Dance with Me...

I walked into church yesterday for the mid-week service and I heard in my spirit "Dance with Me" And I pondered on it; does God dance?

Yes, I will REJOICE over them to do them good, and I will assuredly plant them in this land, with all My heart and with all My soul.’ (Jeremiah 32:41 NKJV))

Isaiah 62:5 says, "For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall your sons marry you; and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God REJOICE over you."

The synonyms of the word rejoice include:  be glad, be overjoyed, celebrate, jump for joy, make merry, etc.  When God says He will rejoice over us then it means He can do everything the word -rejoice stands for. He will make merry, feel happy, glory, and jubilate over me, not for the fun of it, but to do me good. So when He says dance with me, He means; see what I see and rejoice with me about what I am set to do for you. I'm excited about it. Can't you see it? . Jeremiah 29: 11 says "For I know the thoughts I have towards you, thoughts of good and not of evil......"

For God to rejoice over you, you must be rejoicing over yourself. He inhabits the praises of His people. Dance with me means “I am in a state of delight and I want you to be in that state too”. Let us rejoice together so that good may come unto you. “I will assuredly plant them in this land” He says. It is difficult for God to rejoice over a depressed person. He thrives in the atmosphere of joy. No wonder Heaven is depicted as a place of Worship and Praise of God. He enjoys it. . Praise is His habitation. The twenty four elders and an innumerable company of angels worship Him non-stop! His power can't thrive in a place where there is heaviness and sadness. That is why the scriptures in many instances tell us to rejoice.

David was a God-lover, a praise giver, an addicted worshiper; always wanting to be in His presence. He said “I was glad when they said let us go into the house of the Lord” (Psalm 122:1). No wonder He enjoyed immense grace from God and was called “The Man after My heart”. He always gave God an atmosphere to thrive in His life through praise! Always singing, dancing, playing the instruments, writing psalms and enjoying God in His heart. He brought me forth also into a large place; He was delivering me because He was pleased with me and delighted in me.” (Psalm 18:19)

God is saying to you today “because I am by default rejoicing over you, when you rejoice, I am able to easily do that which I have purposed”. A fish can’t thrive outside of water, no matter how small or big it is, neither can the most skillful swimmer make the depth of the sea his permanent abode. The environment we dwell matters a lot. A joyful heart does good like medicine. Joy, which emanates from genuine praise is palpable and such is depression. Stay around a sad person for a while, if you are not careful, you may begin to feel sad too. We are created as objects of Worship. When we live in that consciousness, we will flourish! Make Praise and Worship the air you breathe.

Would you rejoice alongside God? Would you dance with Him?

A Crack or a Knack?

I woke up this morning remembering an event in my life that happened about 11 years ago; Year 2002 to be precise. I was going to write the last paper of my ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) professional exam and I had to travel for the morning paper from Sagamu to Abeokuta (both towns are within Ogun state in the Western part of Nigeria). Quite risky, it was a 45 minutes’ drive but I had successfully embarked on the same trip the previous day so I was sure I would make it. Alas, we had a flat tyre on our way and I got in so late for the exams; so late for an exam I had prepared so much for. Needless to say I failed that paper and it set me back for another six (6) months …..

I remember I was quite devastated when the results came out as I couldn't qualify from that diet because of that single paper. I knew that if I had not arrived late, I would have had a good chance of passing the exam as it was my most favourite course out of the four I was writing. I had been day dreaming about the day the results would be released and I would announce to the world that I had become a Chartered Accountant. Regrettably, there was a setback. I was disappointed in myself and bore the pain for a while. Yes in life there are some pains or setbacks that are self-inflicted and could be avoided; there are some that are not as a result of anything we have done. But it’s all good; God will make use of them all for His glory. Paula White in one of her tweets said “God will use what you go through to prepare you! It’s not all God sent, but it will be God used!

This morning, 11 years after, I cannot remember when last I thought about that experience. In fact the incident has become so sketchy in my mind that I struggled very hard to remember the details. Wow! Something that hit me really bad had become an insignificant issue to me, I had gotten over that setback. I have faced and triumphed over greater challenges after that and I know I would still overcome many more challenges because as long as I am alive, there would always be a challenge to confront. The good thing was that I finished the course and qualified within a year and many years after, I've added a couple of other qualifications to my Portfolio!

Now, that experience may sound so trivial and insignificant compared to whatever you may be going through, the truth is that God can never give you more than what you can handle( 2nd Corinthians 10:13) . Mother Theresa said –“I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much”.You may be experiencing a pain, loss, setback, disappointment or some form of  discouragement today; I can assure you that you will come out of it.It has an expiry date. In a while, you won’t even be remembering it and you will be a source of encouragement to others by comforting them with the comfort you have obtained from that experience. 2nd Corinthians 1:4 says “He comforts us in all our tribulation that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God”. One of Leke Alder’s tweets says “When a crack appears on your egg, your next thought should be omelette, or sunny side up, not who to blame. See possibilities. Keep moving!

Let me leave you with this piece from the scriptures…..

Ist Peter 5: 8-11(Message Version)

Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You're not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It's the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won't last forever. It won't be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does”.

Turn the Crack to a Knack.....This too shall pass!

I am Gold!

I looked at my wedding and engagement rings recently and I got the inspiration to write this piece.

I can't remember the last time I removed them . I just realized it doesn't even occur to me to take them off when I want to wash , cook or bathe. That must be a lot of water running on the rings on a daily basis! Sometimes cleaning materials, chemicals and all sorts that I dip my hands into as well . The interesting and non interesting ones like poo!(wide grin) But the interesting thing is that I am never afraid its going to get damaged. I'm rest assured its of the highest quality hence it can withstand anything!

Whether yours is white or yellow gold, platinum sapphire or diamond, they are all made of tried and tested materials . Gold is a dense, soft, shiny, malleable and ductile metal. It is a chemical with the symbol Au (aurum in Latin, meaning glow of sunrise) and atomic number  79. Gold is the most malleable of all metals(wikipedia).

Have you ever seen where a goldsmith is at work?......It's so much pain to bear for the poor material, yet when its done , we are proud to flaunt it!

We women wash, clean, bathe, bake , cook with our  wedding rings on and we can do all sorts with them...Why? We know that because they are made of the highest quality and have gone through a process, they CANNOT fade! They cannot be tampered with because they have  gone through fire and has come out thoroughly refined and polished.

Life offers us variety of meals. Every chapter is a new story entirely. When a chapter in the book of life ends on a good note, it does not necessarily mean the next chapter will start on the same frequency. We are confronted daily by all sorts of  issues and circumstances. There are days we laugh a lot and there other days we are sober. Sometimes we are rich, some other times we are just hopeful that our needs would be met somehow. There are sometimes we achieve our desires so easily and there are days we labour so much without making a headway.  What you are made of determines what you can withstand. Proverbs 24:10 in the Message version of the bible says "10 If you fall to pieces in a crisis, there wasn't much to you in the first place."

Now here is  what God our  Maker, the Potter  Himself has to say:

Isaıah 48:10: Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver;I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. 11For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do it; For how should My name be profaned? And I will not give My glory to another.

In the same way the best is brought out in gold when it goes through fire, when you allow God polish you in and out, you can withstand anything! And nothing can be withheld from you . You can look at challenges straight in the eye and confront them like David did . You can encourage the weary to cheer up. You've been there yourself and you have triumphed! You can bend a bow with your mere hands and you can leap over a wall  easily.

Be malleable, breakable, bendable now so that when it matters, you wont break or bend.

Having done all, you will still be standing!

Much Love!

The Believer's Prayer...

Giving your Life to Christ? Then say these words:

Lord Jesus Christ, I am a sinner and I ask that you forgive all my sins.
I believe You are the Son of God and I also believe that You died and God raised You from the dead for me .
I confess You  as my  Lord and Saviour, and I ask that You come into my heart today and be my Lord.
Going forward, I ask that you seal me by your precious blood.
Thank You because now I am born again and  I am saved.

It's as easy as that! Welcome to the body of Christ! If you said those words above, You are now a Christian, washed by the blood of Jesus.
I admonish you to find a bible believing church and get into fellowship with other Christians. Like a newly born, You need to desire and take in the sincere milk of the word so you may grow thereby. You've got  to know more about God through His word. Since you have been delivered from the power of darkness and have been translated into God's kingdom, the devil won't be happy, hence you need to fortify your self; building yourself up on your most holy faith through prayers, study of the word and service unto God!

The more of God you know, the stronger you are and are  able to possess all your inheritance in God through Christ and above all, you reign in life over failure, pain, sickness, diseases, and poverty .

You are so special to God!

Welcome Home....
