It’s a new day
and it’s a beautiful one too. Everything around us should inspire us. I look
forward to getting out of bed because I know I would always be inspired by
something around me. Above all, The Inspiration of The Almighty gives me understanding.
So it happened yester-night that a loved one called me to say He lost his wallet in a commercial bus
and He had so much of cash, cards and his ID card in it. I felt his pain because ordinarily,
no one wants to lose a thing. So I prayed with him that a miracle would happen
even though it might look practically impossible finding the missing wallet.
As I was driving
to work this morning, I suddenly remembered the story of the missing ax head in the
bible and I just couldn't but ponder on the richness of the word of God and its
capacity to proffer solution to all our day-to-day issues. There is nothing
happening to anyone in this world that the bible does not have either an
example or an answer for. What an awesome God. Every story in the bible was
carefully recorded and chosen to be a part of the book. I am certain there are
some stories that happened that didn't make it into this wonderful compendium
of knowledge yet there are some that appear so insignificant yet they are
worthy of being mentioned.
Let’s examine the
story of the missing ax head in the Bible…
2nd
Kings 6
1And the sons of the prophets said to Elisha,
“See now, the place where we dwell with you is too small for us. 2.Please
let us go to the Jordan, and let every man take a beam from there, and let us
make there a place where we may dwell.”
So he answered, “Go.” 3Then one said, “Please
consent to go with your servants.”And he answered, “I will go.” 4So
he went with them. And when they came to the Jordan, they cut down trees. 5But
as one was cutting down a tree, the iron ax head fell
into the water; and he cried out and said, “Alas, master! For it was borrowed.”
6So
the man of God said, “Where did it fall?” And he showed him the place. So he
cut off a stick, and threw it in
there; and he made the iron float. 7Therefore he said, “Pick it up for yourself.” So he
reached out his hand and took it.
Hmmmn…..Very interesting
incident you’ll agree with me. I am sure you know an ax head is made of metal, iron
materials. Iron is denser than water, so it should naturally sink
in water. An iron nail, as small
as it is, will sink in water. The iron ax had sunk but it floated, the law of
nature was defied. The supernatural defies natural laws by doing something that
naturally should not happen and that is why it has the prefix “super” added to it.
The Supernatural God by His Supernatural Power is able to flout natural rules to
bring about unimaginable things. The natural was created by the Supernatural after all!
The man of God Elisha just did something prophetic, He
cut a stick and threw it into the spot where the ax-head fell and pronto it floated!
The power of God made a non-floatable material float! This company of the sons
of the prophet had the man of God, the carrier of grace with them. What if
Elisha had not gone with them? The ax head which was borrowed would have been
lost forever!
Now what have you lost physically? If you have faith, I
assure you that you can find it, if you believe. Many times it is so easy to
give up when we lose something but seeing that there is a hope for recovery
from the scripture above, we can tap into the supernatural today and demand for
a recovery of what we have lost. We have the Spirit of God Himself dwelling
inside of us; He is able to give us instructions with regards to what we do not
know. We carry great grace!
Sometimes, it may not be a physical loss; nonetheless,
this principle is applicable too. The God of grace is able to restore whatever
it is we have lost. He sees all. He is Omnipresent- available everywhere at the
same time, the 24/7 God who doesn’t sleep or slumber! He is Omniscient; He knows all, He is
Omnipotent; He can do all things!
Jeremiah 33: 2
‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you
great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

PS: We haven’t found
the missing wallet as of this moment, but I am certain I will testify about it.
It shall be found!
